E. GOD WILL FULFILL HIS PROMISES TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE

2. The Tanakh Proves It

Even if the New Testament had made no mention of promises to the Jewish nation, we would still have them as stated in the Tanakh, which is, after all, still the Word of God. What Christians call the Old Testament was Yeshua's only Bible, and he believed it with all his heart. In fact, referring to the Tanakh and its promises, he said, "Scripture cannot be broken. Likewise Paul wrote that "All Scripture", i.e., the entire Tanakh, is inspired by God and is profitable for doctrine. . . , [24] The New Testament does not cancel or replace the Tanakh; rather, it is built upon itㄧor, more accurately, assumes it. That is, everything written in the Tanakh is assumed by the New Testament to be faithful and true, including all the promises to national Israel.

Moreover, the Tanakh promises of a New Covenant and a new heart and spirit for the Jewish people are coupled with the promise that they will remain a nation and will live safely in the Land of Israel (Jeremiah 31:30-37 and Ezekiel 36:22-36). If we believe that the prophecies of a New Covenant found in these passages are fulfilled by Yeshua, we should also believe that the associated prophecies of Israel's return from Exile to the Land will also be fulfilled. The Bible does not allow itself to be cut in pieces according to the readers preconceived notions.
